Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Vocab Lock mobile application ("App") operated by Pavlovic Media (Dimitrije Pavlovic). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Vocab Lock is a language learning iOS application that helps users build vocabulary by completing daily learning sessions. The App uses Apple's Screen Time framework to restrict access to selected social media apps until the user completes their daily vocabulary session. Vocabulary content is generated using artificial intelligence (OpenAI's API).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Vocab Lock. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. User Responsibilities

When using Vocab Lock, you agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of language learning
• Grant Screen Time permissions voluntarily and understand how app blocking works
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Not use automated systems, bots, or scripts to interact with the App
• Not attempt to circumvent the app-blocking mechanism through unauthorized means

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Vocab Lock offers a free tier and a Pro subscription:

• Free: 1 language, 5 words per day, lock up to 3 apps, 1 streak freeze per week
• Pro Monthly: $9.99/month — all languages, unlimited words, unlimited app locks, 3 streak freezes per week, no ads, word export
• Pro Yearly: $39.99/year (with a 3-day free trial) — same features as Pro Monthly

All subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Prices are in USD and may vary by region based on Apple's pricing tiers. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

To cancel your subscription, go to Settings > your Apple ID > Subscriptions > Vocab Lock > Cancel Subscription. You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.

5. Free Trial

The Pro Yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the annual subscription fee. Free trials are available only once per Apple ID. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Vocabulary words, definitions, example sentences, and quiz content in Vocab Lock are generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI). While we strive for accuracy:

• AI-generated translations and definitions may occasionally contain errors
• Content is provided for educational purposes and should not be considered authoritative linguistic references
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated vocabulary content
• Users should verify critical translations with official language resources when needed

7. Screen Time & App Blocking

Vocab Lock modifies your device's Screen Time settings with your explicit permission to block access to selected apps. By using this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You voluntarily grant the App permission to manage app restrictions via Apple's FamilyControls framework
• Blocked apps will be inaccessible until you complete your daily vocabulary session
• We are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by app blocking (e.g., missing notifications from blocked apps)
• You can remove Screen Time permissions at any time through your device's Settings
• The blocking mechanism relies on Apple's APIs and may be affected by iOS updates or changes to Apple's frameworks

8. Intellectual Property

The Vocab Lock App, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is the intellectual property of Pavlovic Media. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

Vocab Lock is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pavlovic Media shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App
• Inaccuracies in AI-generated vocabulary content
• Academic or professional outcomes based on vocabulary learned through the App
• Loss of data stored locally on your device
• Inability to access blocked apps due to technical issues

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, if we believe you are violating these Terms or misusing the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
